Igor Walilko aims for another podium in Spa

Igor Walilko aims to repeat his podium performance from last year during this weekend’s second round of the Euroformula Open series at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Sixth overall after the opening round at Estoril, the 18-year-old from Zielona Gora wants to up the pace. Having switched teams and joined Fortec Motorsports just days before the first two races, the young Pole wasn’t able to show his full potential in Portugal, but aims to return to the front with a revamped car this weekend.

The picturesque venue set in the Ardennes, Spa-Franchorchamps is the longest and most difficult circuit on the calendar and one of the most spectacular on the planet. Famous for the flat-out, uphill 220+ kmh Eau Rouge corner, Spa is also notorious for the changeable, unpredictable weather.

This weekend the Euroformula Open drivers will take part in the usual two 13-lap races, with the first one of Saturday at 2:40 PM CET and the second one on Sunday at 1:30. The first qualifying practice will take place already on Friday, right after two 30-minute practice sessions with no additional sessions on Thursday.
